Heater matrix control Pot
Discussion
Does anone know where to buy the Pot resistor that goes in the "white plastic" to control the heat on/off?
I think its shot because when i turn my ignition to position II it starts the motor spinning and does't stop!! Not positive this is the problem!! because the previous owner had cut the neutral wire running to the motor(presumably to stop it spinning)
Anyway need a new pot any ideas?? Also how do you fit them? read in another forum that there should be paint marks (no such luxury on mine, all the more fun) what parts do you line up?
thanks Peter

You can get one style from Maplin (10K). However they don't seem to fit all cars.
You might be able to resolder the terminal (apparently the terminal disconnects from the internal track if you leave the soldering iron on it too long). Otherwise it's a whole new motor assembly at 50 quid ex fitting

Edited to add, if you find out otherwise, please let us know!

ive found it!!! a source for these 15mm pots that is.i could never find quite the right one for my old '96 griff, nobody seemed to stock them.its such a great and cheap fix to this common problem, when its often thought you need to change the whole assembly at a cost of £50 or more.anyway, here they are http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=REPT15LH510K&N=401it says out of stock on this link, but the main page has them back in stock and with a price.
