Sometimes I hate my Griff
Discussion
I got it out for a run tonight and all went well with the new engine - it's just about run in and the tuning is just about acceptable (yes, I know it's taken me 3 months to do 200 miles). However it was a cold night so the heater fan decided it would be fun to seize up and stop. This caused an inch of track on the heater controller PCB to vaporize (at least this is an easy fix). Yet another difficult-to-find original part expires.
Going to see if I can fit a bigger fan from a newer car in there this time. But failing that, is the fan from a mk 1 Golf or some other VW?

Vauxhall Cavalier/Astra I think, Have a look through heater thread may be some help
Thanks for the link. It was interesting to see the old heater box again - I built my own a few years ago when similar things happened to mine. Unfortunately it doesn't name the fan part.
John - I'm very pleased to be back on the road, and extremely happy with the new engine at the moment. Shame the rest of the car is trying my patience...
