HI lads can some one tell me if the plastic bush on the door hinge over laps on top of the hinge reason for asking is i took my griff to a garage to sort a fuel problem out and they damaged the drivers door , the door has dropped plus it has has damaged paint work which will need to be taken care of i am so pi...ed off not long paid £4000 for respray now this happened as is normal with some garage it was not them that did it but they will repair the hinge and blow in the paint work ,can you get the hinge or do you just get the pin and bush to reset the door if someone has a photo of their door hinge top 1 ,please that would be super many thanks again paul
Sorry no phot, tried to draw the upper hinge for your understanding, hope it helps.
The upper hinge(the visible part) is mounted with two mountingbolts that can be reached from inside the car (you have to remove carpet).
In the door is a hingebolt which is mounted in the upper hinge upside down with the threaded part upwards.
A plastic bush that is pressed in the door.De hingebolt is mounted through this bush.
If your door is too low and you have no play in the hinges : undo the hinge mountingbolts a bit and adjust the door.
If there's play you have to remove the door (undo hinge mounting bolts from both upper and lower hinge) to see what is damaged.
