When I took the Griff to have the tracking done the guy didn't have a spanner big enough for the big lock nut on the rear wishbone toe adjuster - the one on the front of the wishbone.
It made me wince to watch him trying to get it undone with a pair of molegrips and in the end rather than watch him trash the lock nut I told him to leave it and I'd get it cracked.

The biggest I can get my adjustable to is 32mm which is nowhere near and now he's put little nicks into the nut I'm not sure I'll get an accurate measurement off it.
Does anyone know what size spanner I'll need

Hi Ian,

Getting that nut to move is the easy bit, freeing off the adjuster inside is the difficult bit. I'd go to a TVR specialist (ie someone who has much experience of this) as freeing it off can easily turn into a 'wishbone off to fix it' type of problem...

IMHO

ps, sorry, not sure of the spanner size (inch and a half?) but him not having one is not a good sign...

Yeah, and you know the PITA thing is I've just had both wishbones off to replace the bushes.

I should have cracked the nuts and copper slipped the adjusters while I had the wishbones on the bench, like I did with the wishbone holder itself.
20/20 hindsight is irritating sometimes eh.

Hi Ian, it's a 1" UNF thread so the nut is 1 1/2" AF. Regards, Pete

And don’t forget to undo the 19mm lock nut with a deep socket, as I once did.
