Way back in 1992, I remember being told by a TVR dealer that a version of the Griffith with a two piece rigid roof, as opposed to the part rigid part fabric roof, would become available shortly after the launch of the Griffith. I remember seeing "Griffith Targa" mentioned in a price list alongside the standard car once, and at a subsequent motor show a red car with the aforementioned hardtop colour matched to the body. It shared the stand with the newly announced Chimaera and the proposed Griffith AJP. I've often thought this was the best looking Griffith of all, but I've never seen this car or any other examples of this variant since. Does anyone else remember it or know of any hard top Griffs? Or is my mind playing tricks! My interest was only revived in it as I bought a Griff a while back.

I think Tim Lamont (ACT) or someone else proposed a hardtop - fastback Griff at some time .. but I don't think anything ever came of it ..

I seem to remember the Wedge Automotive (RT Racing as was) catalogue used to list a split-roof for the Griff/Chim. I don't believe they do any more though.

If you're interested, might be worth having a word with Richard Thorpe at RT Racing (sheffield) to see if there's any plan to re-instate.

Interesting! Is this as a "one-off" or are you thinking of going into production?

K77 are you using a doner rear glass?the reason I ask,we have a beautifull Chim hard top down here and are going to make some moulds, currently with plexy glass rear screen, but will adapt if a glass screen is pretty close to the shape.
