Door lock solenoid repair 4,95 Euro
Discussion
Just before holidays discovered the door won't lock. No time to get spares from UK.
Took a gamble and bought what I could get quickly. Just an ordinary solenoid(Original is SPAL Italy) for only 4,95 euro's.
Had to find out which wire did wat (two are motor, three are position switch) which was easy. Important to note which way the motor moves, and which position the switch connectors are closed/opened. This must be right.
Resoldered to the old TVR connector, redrilled two mounting holes for the solenoid because it was slightly longer and of we go.
Now let's hope the weather will dry. Don't want the roof up.
See pics.

Original, please not how TVR soldered the connector to the original SPAL solenoid.

Thats interesting Ronald
I was told recently by an assistant at Maplin who sold a 2 wire version and a 4 wire version of these solenoids that the 4 wire version was for cars with both central locking and a door key lock.
As we don't have a key lock I wondered if we could use the 2 wire version.
Then again, we do have the button on the dash which locks the doors so I'm not sure if that is wired into the 'door key' wires.

The 2 wire solenoid is not ok. It will work, but the alarm will get no feedback from the solenoid whether door is locked or unlocked.
It has been said that this can also cause the alarm to use more current, but I am not sure of this.
But as 5 wire solenoids are easily available I would suggest this.
As said, two wires for the motor, three for the position switch.
