Any Griffith Speed Championship
Discussion
As the prospective owner of Marlon’s tweaked Griff 500, I realise what is called for is a nice gentle transition as I learn to accommodate a quantum increase in grunt from my mild and meek V8S. It would of course be madness to get the car, wack on some corner weighted nitrons, fit a roll bar and head off to North Weald for the first sprint of the year …
So nothing to report yet ... but I'm happy to keep you posted as the season progresses.
Cheers

Ah, won't be much help to you then.
I can't even afford any upgrades such as Nitrons or even AVO's at the moment, baby pending delivery mid year.
The only driver aid I'll have is Optimax so I don't expect to be reporting any times worth mentioning.
Still good fun though!

Implies he'll be out sprinting - for the first time?
Are you signed up for the sprint championshipe yet? I know Steve was close to closing the list as he already had over 50 signed up competitors for this year.
When do you plan to do the first event? And don't worry, if you've done any track days (as your profile suggests), you'll have a head start over a number of competitors who've gone straight from the Queens Highway to the high octane sprint scene.

No, I've done 4 sprints in the last 3 years so it won't be my first time. I'm signed up for this year too.
I'd planned on using last year to practice and get the car set up properly. Although I got a bit of practice in, I never got to the 'upgrade' stage.
Then, just as I thought the coast was clear to get spending on some dampers and a couple of other mods, the Mrs gets a bun in the oven.
Don't get me wrong, I'm made up. But its just meant that my original plans for an extra second or two have gone west.
Just have to concentrate on my own skills which is probably where we all need to start anyway.
