Has anyone else got a scruffy vertical line of yellow paint on the dipstick collar which sits on the dip tube?

By odd coincidence I was fitting new plugs yesterday, spotted it again and got to musing on which previous owner put the paint there and why.
Then today I was at James Aggers place where he has a very original 4.3BV with just 4k miles on it, and it had the same yellow paint on the dipstick.

Now I'm curious what it might mean.
So does anyone else have it?

Nope, because your chauffeur or batman probably polished it off for you. So you don't count.

I believe by convention 'Warning: maintenance items', such as oil and water, are/were colour coded, with Oil being yellow. Helps for quick identification in the engine bay. Looks like your dipstick's yellow paint has worn away with age and repeated checks of oil level. Mine's just engine bay black.
