Afternoon gents,

After trialing a Tuscan seat in the Griff for the year I have decided to keep the seats and have them retrimmed to suit the car. I really like the original seats but they have no lateral support and even I (average height) no not fit in the car with a helmet on. The tuscan seats are almost as comfortable and have the advantage of lateral support and the ability to take the cushion out for trackdays.

I am booked into with Dave the Trimmer in February to retrim the seats and have new carpets fitted. I am really stuck on what to do with them I have some ideas but not set on which one.

This is what the car looks like with the original seats:

This is what it looks like at the moment:

Option 1
Standard Cream with blue stitching as per original seats

Option 2
Blue outside with cream centres to match the doors and dashboard:

Option 3
All blue as per Racing Green Tuscan with similar interior

Sub options to be combined with above

Sub Option A
Daytona style centres either full or half back

Sub Option B
Classic style centres similar to original seats

Option 2B is the current favourite - Blue outside with cream centres to match the door cards and classic style centres, possibly with contrasting cream and blue stitching and the classic TVR logo. Just not sure if two tone will look a bit much and whether all cream would be better. I also really like the daytona style. Decisions - help!

Any suggestions / options / ideas gratefully received

Matthew

I think the Tuscan seats work well with a split colour scheme so I would pick either blue outside with a cream center ot cream outside with blue centre

That one, but the whole subject seems a bit 'girlie' to me, what's wrong with it as it is?!

Agree. At least the blue which will be the bit you sit on won't show the grime as much and will match the existing trim. Just not sure on the Daytona and how much support/comfort it would provide - looks nice but don't look like you'd be comfortable on a decent run.

Agree on color (cream outside, blue inside).
Wouldn't go for Daytona as it looks too busy in a Griff with all the curves/lines and different colors.
Would go for the classic as it is more serene and in harmony with the car.

Matthew, you were such a gent when I spotted these on Faceache and turned to you for advice. You could so easily have jumped in and whipped them away from under my nose, but to your eternal credit you just shouted "BUY THEM!!!!!" in my ear loud and clear.

This is the standard Tuscan two colour-way, at a guess, which keeps the car kinda original, so favoured by buyers:

And yes, I do now need to get Furniture Clinic onto my tired and tatty original magnolia trim - the Tuscan colour is more yellow, but I prefer it.

Very interested in this thread. Last week after many months of searching I finally acquired a pair of Tuscan seats in good condition at a price I was happy with.
Won't be getting retrimmed for quite a while yet but am looking to re-colour the bits that don't match, this thread could prove inspirational.

Love these seats

For your car Matthew I'd probably go blue outside, cream inside (but ditch the semi circular detail on the backrest). Keep us updated thumbup

Excellent stuff, glad you found a pair, I spent 2 years looking for a pair to come up that were a sensible price. Most seem to change hands for over 1k which is ridiculous! Having said that retrimming mine will cost around 1k so maybe I should have spent that on a pair that were the right colour in the first place.

Thanks for the advice, I'll post up when they are completed.

Whenever I see you post I always think of your amazing Griff. Still cannot believe you let this go...

Standard cream Matt (I think it looks abit 'busy' with the split colour scheme elsewhere - could throw in some gold viper stripes to mix it up a bit....

Throw all the magnolia bits over the nearest hedge and go for red and navy blue (
which is what I will do if I ever have the £ spare haha )

Seats I got are in great condition (they were retrimmed fairly recently) and I'll dig out the remains of my Furniture Clinic products to dye the grey bits black or magnolia to suit.

Ah, the beautiful Griff frown As much as I love my Chim (it's a better sorted car now than the Griff ever was) every time I go into the garage (or visit this part of the forum) I regret selling it. Said it before and I'll say it again - I was an idiot!

It was (hopefully still is) California Sage Green, an Aston Martin colour apparently.

Add a Fibreon vented bonnet and that's exactly how I would have a Griffith. Like the wheels too. Saw two Griffs at a Berks meet a couple of months back with them and they really suit the car.
