Has anyone done a mod on the boot release system, so that you can open the boot without the need for deactivating the immobiliser or having the ignition switched on?

The number of times I turn the car off; before pressing the boot release button is bordering on the astronomical

I made my own, modified the remote lock system from a Renault, but a similar remote central locking kit can very easily be modified and fitted

This has been working fine on mine since this thread; would really miss it now:

Topcats have just fitted an alarm to mine & included a boot release - works when immobiliser active.

Picking car up Friday, I'll take some photos

I fitted this system to my Griff. Its an easy install and comes with excellent instructions. Key fob activation and leaves the button on the dash still available.

I'm sure that works well, but where it sits, I'd be catching that connector all the tome, and hence it would soon get damaged. You'll have to be careful when using the boot.

I've had the Mod-Wise one for 10 years (or more) and it is fine. Completely hidden and works perfectly

How handy are you with electrics and hands on work?
I'm useless at electrics but now have a remote boot release for less than £20. The downside is it's on a separate fob to the normal remote but I can live with that given the simplicity of the job and the fact I can open the boot remotely.
I followed a thread on here and I'll see if I can locate it for you.
