Why not remain with the original look and fit 16" Estorils all round, I have Brembo 4 pot calipers and 324mm discs on mine with 16" Estoril's

That's interesting...Which discs did you use? I have the OZ crossspokes(15" front), by the way...I was staying with that style, in Leno BSX

Don't forget that the original look on the Griff was smaller wheels on the front giving a nose down appearance.

Except for he final run of SE's

The rolling circumference does not change, wheel size goes up, tyre profile goes down

That's true. I guess like on all "run out" models they were using up parts wink

I think your choice of rear 245 tyre width and ET40 runs the risk of catching on the inside of the wheel arch.
What make of tyre are you considering? They are not all the same width for a given size.

I have some ET33 rear wheels with 235 Toyo R888s on them. If you would find it useful, I could fit them and see how close they are. R888s are wider than many other tyres if the same size.
I also have some 215 Federal 595s on ET 40 wheels, fitted with 5mm spacers, actually on the car. Again, I could measure the clearance. It will need to be over 20mm for yours to be ok [ (245-215)/2 + 5 ].

Not disagreeing with Andav, but I too have Focus RS 324mm disks, and a set of 16 inch wheels I tried a couple of months ago wouldn't clear the calipers. It will be a close fit if it works. Also your tyre choice is better with 17s IMHO.

You will need brackets to mount the calipers to the hubs, do you have those also?

The guy who provides the brackets, insists that the discs/calipers won't fit under 16"s...Maybe Estorils allow more clearance??

Checking for clearance would be brilliant, QBee...If you would, I would be in your debt!! angel

I will get measuring shortly.

Thinking it through, you can always improve your inner clearance by using a 5mm spacer, to bring the ET effectively down to 35. Factory standard rear ET is 33, but before you are tempted to use a 7mm spacer, do bear in mind that a 7mm spacer will leave you needing longer wheel studs as well.

I suppose my worry stems from using 235 section Toyo R888s on my car. To be fair, they are very square shouldered. Out on track, and I had the passenger side tyre catching on the inside of the body on the wheel arch, ie on the outward facing side of the tyre. Stick a passenger in and it was twice as bad. Tried them on someone else's car, just the same.

I got around it by raising the ride height by about 15mm.

As Rigga has stated, if fitting under 16" wheels, you will need spacers, I fitted 10mm spacers all round (front and back, including longer studs) I've run this set up for the last 2.5 years with no issues, makes the wheels fill the arches too smile

Are they Boxster/996 rear callipers and where can you get the brackets from?
