Longest Trip in a Griff
Discussion
1100 Km from my house to Italy, two weeks of racing throught the mountains, and another 1100 Km back home.
Makes a total of about 5000 km, all without any problems.
The Grif has been an excellent car to travel long distances.
Done it two years in a row til now, and hope to do it this year again.

Well ...
2 Weeks in 2000 : Stourbridge to St. Tropez to Nice to Venice to Ljublijana, Slovenia to Amsterdam to Stourbridge
1 Week in 2001 : Stourbridge to Amsterdam to Ljublijana, Slovenia to Luxembourg to Stourbridge
2 Weeks in 2002 : Stourbridge to Chamonix to Rapallo, Italy to Nice to Montpellier to Bordeaux to Stourbridge
4 Days in 2004 : Stourbridge to Montreaux to Stourbridge
I had an alarm problem on the last one that involved cutting off the siren and throwing it in a lake. Other than that not a single beat missed!
Go on, go on, go on, etc.

Done a 600 mile stint down to south of France in a day. and used while there for a week and then the 600 mile journey back in a day. Never missed a beat except when a Ht lead moved against the manifold for some spokey reason and made the old banana cough a bit. This was mid August too and very hot.

Just in the hope to raising a smile.. we once managed to get back from Italy > Henley in my old S2 in a day. A long, tiring day. The baffles were shot. The wheel needed balancing, badly. No idea of the mileage but damn did I feel rough day after.. hands vibrated all day long

London to Outer Hebrides via Uig (Skye) (and Glasgow-Edinburgh several times on trip). 2000 miles approx in all. Optimax cost a bit, but very pleasant drive, car fine.
Having a V6 Omega take me on at services in the Lake District (North) as I pulled out was funny, he thought he might do me, saw error of his ways shortly afterwards, chuckled as he passed me doing about 95 some time afterwards, thinking he'd caught and "done" me!
Awesome car to go touring in - so relaxed if you want it to be - Scottish Highlands are what the car is made for - overtaking is "choose target, aim, fire", laughing all the time.
Enjoy your trip, don't forget to take your grin with you.
