Anyone know where to obtain a "new" warning light panel for a pre-cat Griff dash?
mine is pretty kn*ckered and I could do with a new one. I know Green Meanie was able to source some but he hasn't been on here for while (hoping he is ok)...

Yes I could do with a new one too, particularly a nice alloy one which I have seen somewhere ?

I have been contacted in respect of looking at manufacturing these, I believe they would be a good compliment to the 'Dashboard' kits! I shall look at designing a prototype on the coming onto or so! Regards, Pete

Thanks for the replies.

Pete, per email, would be great to have a new panel to go with your dash smile

EGB, I think you are referring to the plumber's tape approach which I agree would be good if the panel itself was salvagable. Unfortunately mine is just plain kn**kered and completely see-through in places so its not just about making the symbols seem brighter unfortunately frown

Hi Pete, hope you are going to make some new warning light panels, it would finish off the dash that you made for my pre cat 4.3

Hi Paul, its getting that way, once you get your new dash! I really think I can get these done as per originals, but using modern methods. I have a contact that could easily manufacture them, I just need to get it drawn up on CAD exactly right! Luckily I have the one out of my old dash to work with. The positioning of the symbols is not a problem as I have the spacing of the lamps from the mounting plate I designed. A minor issue to be solved is getting the symbols as a CAD manipulable file, shall work on this first! How exiting these simple tasks become…. Pete

If you need names for a list to make it cost effective, I would be interested in one for my PeteDash.

So you're looking at making them in plastic? If there's enough demand, could you do them in alloy to match your dash?

Hi Glyn, personally I thing alloy would not look right on the walnut dashboards, it might be ok on the alloy ones though. My first investigation will be in plastic, screen/digitally printed with the symbols as a void in the printed layer. Alloy would have to be fully routed/laser cut and there would be issues in retaining the symbol shape. All the best, Pete

I agree Pete that alloy panels on a wooden dash wouldn't be a good match but, if it can be done, I think they'd look the dog's on your alloy dash (with some sort of lugs to locate them rather than just glue).

Hui Glyn, I have a great idea! I could change the alloy front dash panel to incorporate the symbols into the dashboard itself, doing away with the need for a separate insert panel! Would not help those that have the dashboards already of course. Once I come up with a design for the plastic ones it would not be a great leap to transpose to aluminium, lets have a look. Regards, Pete

Beginning to think that Pete needs a new handle with all of the bits and bobs he has supplied to many of us to keep our beasts happy. I swapped my discs and brakes following his example and have his dash and his stainless steel tray and exhaust bits...
Looking forward to seeing the results of the work on the warning panel smile

Hi Paul, yes it does seem that way! On that subject for a bit of humour on my drawings I actually put "TVR Stuff' in the information border and jokingly state 'Copyright TVR Stuff'! I do have many other potential improvements buzzing around, just need the time to pursue them. All the best, Pete

Have just looked at mine. The face looks fine but some of the bulbs appear not to be working or bright enough. Does anyone know what bulbs are used so I can order some before removing the dash?
