Hi All,
The car has been going great and thanks to the new scissor lift I have been able to get on top of a few jobs with ease.
One of those jobs was an oil and filter change on Sunday. I used Millers Classic Sport (20w50) and a Land Rover filter.

The oil pressure was sitting at 30psi and I went for a run no problem.
I took the car out yesterday and again the tickover pressure was 30psi (at cold). When I pulled up at the house the oil pressure light came on and the gauge was showing almost zero.
I have checked the oil level and its fine. I connected a mechanical gauge and it shows 10psi.
I have removed the oil pressure relief valve and its clean and free moving.

I am at a loss. The engine was rebuilt after a slipped bearing less than a year ago and I am hoping it is anything but that again.

Thoughts always appreciated guys, thanks.....

Try another filter, the one you fitted may have been faulty and it only showed up after having some oil pumped through it, sort of collapse internally if you like.

Pickup in the sump ok? Issues have been reported regarding it.
Don't know if it is a pre-serp, but it then this type of pump wouldn't prime itself as you know.
Perhaps even on the later serp this could happen if the pickup is not ok (as it is the pickup....)

I thought 10psi hot at tickover was in the acceptable range.

As your oil pressure light came on the it is serious.

I had a 10lb drop when a cam bearing worked loose!

Defo worth looking at the pick up, loose or blocked.
