heater valve open or shut ?

AS I am flushing out my water system before I put new antifreeze in (volspec from Volvo ) I do not know if the valve is open to the heater matrix or not just by looking at it does anyone know. Have loaded up a photo. There are 5 terminals to the valve one black two blue with red stripe and two orange with a blue stripe, that still leaves a red that is just hanging there that I do not know where to connect to.
