Clunk when reversing

Took the car out for its first run of the year today. Charged the battery and it started first time as usual. No leaks so all good except.....

I had forgotten that when I put it away it had just started clunking when I reverse and make a turn. So: into reverse gear, reverse out of the garage, left hand down and then a clunk from the rear axle. Is it a diff mounting, half shaft or what? Is there a routine failure back there? There is no clunk when making any type of manoeuvre travelling forward.

Grateful for any guidance.
