thread size for LT77 Gearshift

Anyone know the thread size required for a new gearshifter on a pre-cat Griff with an LT77?

It seems like the T5 is 1/2" UNF (20 TPI) from the following post in the Chimp forum

are you referring to the gear knob thread they are the same...... when I changed my LT77 box for a T5 the garage put my old LT77 knob on the gearstick, and I then bought one for the T5 box ......screwed one off and screwed the other staright on

It never occurred to me when I swapped the knobs over about different size threads ....... Guess I just got lucky
