Can a tornado chip of a CUX 14 box rot along the years?

As a rough guide EPROMs have a minimum working life of 10 years, that's worst case. If you suspect your ECU's EPROM is suffering 'bit rot' and it was supplied by Mark Adams contact him, as I believe he sells the more robustly specified Mil Std ICs.

Why do you ask? I expect the ECU to throw up a checksum error if one of the data bits has changed status.
I ask because for some reason the engine pops continuosly and it doesn't go as smooth as it did without any apparent change in any other part, I've checked all the electric, the AM is still good and there hasn't been any disruption in the cablage...No, it doesn't throw any error check anyway.
