Clutch master - same part no different fitting ?
Discussion
having obtained a Girling master with the same part no as the master in the car (1994 Griff 500), I decided Saturday was a good day to fit it.
Discovered after some effort, that although the master casting had the same part no as the one in the car, the pipe fitting was different. Larger on the cylinder in the car.
How can it be same part no, has different pipe fitting. Did TVR rework these parts themselves ?

Hi,
yes by all accounts they are TVR specific with a larger union than standard.
Best to buy from a TVR parts supplier, same goes for the slave cylinder.
There was a person on ebay selling clutch master cylinders for chims/griffs but he did offer an adaptor to deal with this issues, this may be the way to go. I had the same issue with weeping master cylinder and just fitted a new seal kit.

It was a few years back but from memory I bought my replacement from a local landrover spare parts factors and needed to buy a little fitting from them to convert from the small fitting in the master cylinder to the pipe a common part I would of thought just need to find a friendly landrover spares guy that can look at the drawings and find the part number for you.
