When I had my hood off for the retrim I wanted to improve on the TVR/Aftermarket methods of using self tappers into the fibreglass or spire clips, or trying to fiddle about with small nuts on the back when using bolts. I made up some M6 tapped stainless plates (25mm square), located some new M3 stainless countersunk capheads, then glued the plates in place. This then provides a nice firm fixing, and spreads the load, and also being glued in place there is no fiddly nuts to play with.
As Stormguy says, eBay is the place for the M6 stainless fixings. Let me know if you are interested in the M6 tapped plates. Also, I polished the heads of the fixings before finally fitting, along with new turned cup washers (available on eBay as used in the GoKart market). All the best, Pete
