The car's had two alarms and two stereos, all 'professionally' installed, but of course no-one bothered to remove the old equipment before installing the new. Tut tut...
I'm removing the old alarm system as I hate superfluous stuff that doesn't do anything. And I can't see the point of a stereo in a pre-cat so that's out as well!

Too true. I never listen to the stereo in my Griff. Firstly, I can't hear it and secondly I prefer the sound of the engine!
Regarding the security. I take a slightly unusual approach. Specifically, I never lock the car. Reason being, if some scroat's determined to break into it, they could easily do so even if it was locked, and end up damaging the car. Secondly, the immobiliser should ensure it can't be hot-wired anyway. Needless-to-say, I never leave anything valuable in it.
