Hi Guys,

I am potentially interested in the rather nice Black/Black Griffith 500 For Sale by James Agger. Does anyone here know of the cars previous history?

Any feedback is most appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I agree that anything non savory should be kept to private mail.

Another question, does James take p/ex of other vehicles or is it strictly TVR only?

Is 'Agger' no longer an advertiser, I was looking for his link in the 'advertisers directory' .

Nice car, Dusty was going to buy it. (Whatever happened to?). Duncan's had it for the last year. If he's at the meet this w/e no doubt we'll find out why it's up for sale. Must say it surprised me.

Is he going back to Caterham?

Thats the one guys. She looks stunning. I take it from the comments that the previous owner, Duncan, resides here. I need to find out more regarding the engine work.

You mention a meet this weekend. I am based north of Leicester out in the sticks. Is it possible for my wife and I to pop along?

The previous owner is an East Midlands car club member. James Agger is usually there, as is Maggitt. I'll be there this weekend. You'll be made very welcome, it's a very friendly group. Shouldn't be too far from you either; it's at the Old Ship at Lowdham this weekend.

Details are here www.tvrcc-eastmidlands.co.uk/monthly_meetings.asp

I'll look out for you. If you want to hook up by phone first then mail me via my profile and I'll give you my mobile number.

Unfortunate circumstances on previous owners part. Nothing to do with car or driving though (won't write more on public forum).

I missed out on ever seeing the car but from what I heard it was a very nice example.

-black/black
-Serp
-T5 box
-pre-serp dials (its a Dec94 so one of the very first serps)
-TVR Power upgrades (cam and chip) during recent engine rebuild (less than a year ago).

James Agger is a decent bloke, give him a call and ask him. He'll soon tell you "its a beauty" or something like that!

Hmm, just adding 2+2 together here, but I think someone might have been telling me about this car on the phone earlier. If it's the same one, I believe it drives rather nicely. I'll see if I can find out.

The advertisers directory only lists those companies who use banner advertising. James doesn't.

Thanks very much to all that have replied. I will be giving James Agger a call tomorrow regarding the car. Hopefully he could bring it along to the meet.

I look forward to meeting you all.

Don't give him an excuse, he'll be there in it anyway!

Ahhhhh!

Jet Black - no finer choice to be made! All the best Griffs come in that hue.

Just ask James for a brief run down on colour choices................he can tell you the code at about 5000 paces.

Sadly I won't be making the Sunday meet as i'd overlooked the football match taking place. Blackburn Vs Leicester (FA Cup Qtr Final). C'mon Leicester!!

Hopefully I will be able to attend the next meet in a Griff.

I have phoned James Agger and left a message for hime to call me. According to Autotrader he is only 8 miles away from my home. Where is he based?

Thanks for all your help. Lets hope that this Griff is THE ONE!! I'm getting all excited as i've waited years for this. Feel like a 32 year old kid at Christmas.

You wait till the night before you get it. Lasts a week, that night does.
