Hi, a question for the know-it-alls, and I mean that as a compliment! I'm trying to replace the 'fan' belt, I've undone the tensioner bolt but there's no sign of reduced tension on the pulley. Is it likely that the whole unit's just stuck in position due to not having been moved in a long time and, if so, will a little encouragement with a Manchester screwdriver help? Thanks.

'98 should be a serp so the whole tensioner should be Spring loaded and release the belt tension when you use a spanner on it. There is a vid on YouTube somewhere of a belt swap in 60 seconds or similar. Ac and non ac cars have different tensioners working in opposite directions I think - so if somebody put the wrong one on....
eta search on YouTube for tvr belt swap

Thanks for your speedy reply Andy, it took me nearly as long to change the belt after reading your reply as it did for you to send it!
