Where is my VSS

Following from an earlier post of the speedo not working, i thought i'd check the vss wiring and gap.

the bible says there is a toothed wheel on the driveshaft near the diff, but i can't see one.

1994 Griff 500 - is there some other setup or I am just being blind ?

Is the sensor above the u/j on the prop shaft then (it is a T5 box?)?

It's early box. Reverse left and forwards. Is that t5 ?

No, it's the Rover box, the speedo drive is from the box itself I believe.

Ok thanks. I'm barking up the wrong tree then at the rear though I have put a scope on and can see no signal on pin 6 or 7 when I turn the wheels.

Seems to be some difference of opinion on pin. I think it's 6 but an earlier poster on my starter thread suggested it was 7.

Not sure about this but, depending where the speedo sensor is in/on the box, you might not get a signal whether it's 6 or 7 just by turning the wheels.

does anyone know if turning jacked up wheels will trigger the sensor ?

and can you get it out best from above or below ?
