Final Drive Ratio ?

The BTR Diff in my 1998 car has a tag attached that states a ratio 3 45 which I guess indicates 3.45:1 but the hand book states 3:31:1 I am looking for a replacement Diff but am a bit perplexed by the different ratio. Anybody got any info on what was usually fitted ? Also, I guess the Oil filler is the inaccessible bolt on the driver’s side and it should be filled level with the hole.

it looks like you were on the changeover with handbooks.my 2000 car also has the btr 3.45 diff but it is listed in the handbook.im also interested in gearing on these later models,my last griff had a salisbury diff(3.33 ratio possibly?)and this car had a taller fifth gear ratio of around 0.73 (i think) listed in the manual.my current cars fifth is 0.80.in short my 2000 car will do about 26mph/1000 revs in fifth but my old car did 29mph/1000,which i much preferred.if anyone on here could post the fifth and diff ratios of a '96 car id be intrested to see what they were please?ps. if you think the btr is awkward to fill,then you should have seen where the filler was on the salisbury!!! a real p.i.t.a.
