What is the most likely cause of the following:

Offside mirror rotates in both directions, but nearside mirror only rotates in horizontal plane. There is no movement or motor noise in the vertical.
I'm no auto leccie but I have assumed the mirrors each have a separate motor for horizontal and vertical motions, and because only one motor in one mirror is not working, the switching and wiring must be OK and therefore I wonder if the fourth motor might be duff.

How do I check it out?
PS: because of where the mirror has stopped in the verical, I may have trouble getting to the plastic release for the glass.
Any thought would be of help.

Cheers, Paul

Check connector behind speaker.

Colours may vary, but I found:

Green & Black/Red +/- or -/+ do Left Right

Additionally the Red/Blue wire is +/- for Up/down

The relay must be Ok for one side to work, but the changeover switch may need cleaning. Its easiest to check first at the connector tho.

The Black & Blue/Orange wires are for the heater element.

Happy Multi-metering :-)

Thanks Spend,

I didn't know there was a connector behind the speaker.

I hope it is that simple.

I dont think it will be as simple as pushing the connector together - but its an easy place to start diagnosis, just need to remove grill & speaker. Whatever comes after may be a little harder tho!
