Thinking about swapping Tuscan for Griffith
Discussion
"You need some cash raised?"
Unless you are swapping for a really old Griffith, I don't think you would raise any cash?
I think the Tuscan will continue to fall in value, the Griffith not. I think the Griffith will be cheaper to run and service. But IMO the Tuscan handles and goes better.

driving the griff is a fantastic car, bags of torque is just superb, against the tuscan, which is much revier. it depends on your driving style, do you like to floor it to 6k or put your foot down at 1500 and keep on going?
i had the turbo style rev engine for a while and loved it, but after having a griff. well, nothing can substitute a woofly v8.
trry both and see what you like.

I've had a 500 for 3 years.. only change I would make to what I bought would be PAS...
As for upgrades, the world is your oyster. I do think the newer TVR's handle much better, they are more refined etc.. but I have driven a certain green griffith that used to have Ohlins on, and that was easily better than any Tuscan or T350 I have tried.
As for running costs.. from what I beleive the Griff is, er, slightly cheaper than a Tuscan.

Has anybody made this move and if so what do you think?

Have to admit, I'm sometimes tempted as there doesn't seem to be any dealers down my neck of the woods who can do a decent job of looking after my Tam (for extortionate amounts of money at thar!!)

It's not a cost issue. I'm just sick of wondering when the engine's going to expire. It just cost £1450 for a service at 8k miles due to a worn cam follower being found. It rattles like hell and although its quick and handles better than the 4.0 Chimaera I had, I do agree that the Griff looks like a classic.
Will I notice a BIG difference between the 4.0 Chim and a 5.0 Griff?

Go for it!
I had a 2001 Tuscan S and changed it for '98 Griff, didn't save any money, actually the Griff has cost me more, but worth every penny!!
The Griff is a real car, the Tuscan was a toy!
I went from a Griff SE to a Tuscan S and would say its the exact oposit, the Griff coulnt be trusted to get to the local shops without braking down, the Tuscan however gets me work and back every day and even stays dry inside, much more of a real, everyday car.
We've got a Tuscan as a temporary replacement whilst the Griff is in for a respray. Totally different driving experience. The Griff sounds more meaty and the Tuscan is whistly from the induction noise and throaty from the back. It has PAS which I do not like but as I've only driven it 25 miles and managed to wreck a rear tyre (Saturday) and put a ding in the rim (the tyre was brand new fitted Friday afternoon) I may still be feeling the pain (£170 for the tyre).
At the moment I wouldn't swap the Griff.
Acceleration on the Tuscan is frightening and you don't feel like you are going so fast which you do in the Griff. Tuscan pops and bangs like a good 'en.
The roof fitting in the boot is neat though and is a plus point. It also gets more looks than the Griff for some reason.
