A few years back there were a few Griffiths fitted with twin headlamps under the original headlamp covers by Webb autos I think. Just wondering if this was a good mod in the day and still is compared to fitting the SE 7" headlamps with either hid or the latest LED bulbs?

Yes, you're right it was Webbs in Bristol. I prefer the 7" conversion tho as it looks more original.

Fibreon still do the twin light pods.

I really like the twin headlamp pods behind the perspex cover. Needs to be painted satin / matt black though. All imho.

Twin lights will always out perform a single bulb set up. Current H7 LED bulbs put out 2000lm each. The twin lights mean four of these bulbs. Two H4 (LED/HID/Incandescent) bulbs can't compete with that.

An alternative is to fit (a second set) small LED spots in the grille. Not my choice.

I really liked this one that I took a picture of somewhere years back (Chatsworth?). I managed to track down the people that created it - Option 1 - and they told me that one had been stolen and they'd never made a spare, so discontinued it. Shame as I prefer the side-by-side 'Aston' look more than the more widely used 'front-and-back' design.

I don't understand why people don't fit chrome bulbs to clear indicators. They are hardly expensive.

Generally I agree (I upgraded my Griff's indicators to clear units with chrome bulbs), however in the design above I wonder if it would look like too many lamp units in the cluster; at least this design differentiated between the main lights and the repeaters. Just my thoughts.

Very nice!

Might be worth asking them again!?

I would be interested.

I still like them too, although I'd think about keeping the current indicators as standard and not as part of the cluster. Badly done but:

Having had work done by them I wouldn't use them again

This is the normal style for twin light. I got them off eBay so can't give you an idea of where they came from.

I like those. Is the side light incorporated in the dipped beam lamp?

My thinking was to fit the twin headlamps as per the orange griff then delete the lower grill main beam and have the front grill slightly re-shaped into a constant oval once the lower lamps have been removed. Keep the original front indicators but use the white reverse light version instead of those huge orange ones. Having a chat with central TVR and the main man wasn't really happy to do that. He suggested or rather told me lol the 7" se headlamp conversion instead as it's in keeping with the original design.

Bit like this?

Slightly different take on the same principle.

The Hella and Ring light units used have versions that contain fitting for a '5W' sidelight bulb.

Add a Fibreon vented bonnet to the Grif in the post above and that would be my favourite [looking] Grif.

The twin light looks OK, but losing the indicators and driving lamps really doesn't improve the looks IMO.

I kept the indicators and the original main beam as well as I don't like the black hole without them and the cross bar. My orange one above also has the chim vents fitted.

That looks rather good. To me the front looks less cluttered by removing those low down main beam light units. It's a shame the rs 7 spokes are not a little wider on the rear. It's a good looking front for a Griff, I think smile

Another with a modified front lacking the big front indicators as well as the main beam lamps
