Need some help my Griff started mis firing then cut out completely, I suspected the coil and the booster pack and replaced both, I am getting a great spark from the coil, but when connected to the distributor it's not getting to the plugs. It's had recent (500 miles) new cap leads and rotor arm. Anyone any suggestions before I look at a new distributor am i missing something. Eddie

Do you have the old cap and rotor arm. Try swapping them over as there's lots of cheap parts out there that fail .

Thanks have checked leads connection but was wondering about changing the rotor arm as another friend suggested this, however I was checking the distributor and there's what looks like corrosion on the stator under the sealed cover. Was wondering if there is a common problem with the distributor

It's not something that comes up very often on here that I can remember.

Rotor arms tend to be a bit hit and miss these days, id just start with what you can change for things you know to work to try and cancel out the obvious first.

Hi everyone thanks for the help unbelievable but it was the rotor arm Griff back running again. Is this a common problem with new parts from electrical supplier's. Anyway thanks again

Some new rotor arms and dizzy caps can be complete tat, failures are quite well known.
Finding original Lucas bits (as in proper original, not current chinese Lucas-boxed stuff) is getting very difficult.
I think all NOS stocks have been exhausted now, but might be worth asking the likes of ACT if they still have stock. The distributor doctor was getting close to putting RV8 rotor arms into production last year - I believe their rotors are good quality.
