Anybody know what the speed sensor (looks at the toothed wheel on one of the diff output shafts) is off of, or is it a TVR special ? Also what should the gap between the sensor and teeth be ?
Steve
I'm sure all this is in Edition 2 of the Bible
From memory TVR only, can't help with the gap.
If you can lay your hands on a 'scope you can turn the wheels and see pulses on the 'scope.
Again all explained in the shpub's 2nd edition.

Have V2 of book but can't see any info about gap. Do have scope and will check for pulses tomorrow, but feel the sensor has probably expired so wondered if a local factor would have one if it is a ford bit or the like.
I'm sure I've seen it in there as I had to read it all to work out which one I had on mine - not the one your mentioning, mine was in the end of the gearbox.
But I do remember there is mention of the gap. If you can see where it mentions how to hook-up 'scope and where it explains how to jack it up and turn wheels for pulses its got to be around that place.
Diffiantly a TVR part, but believe there are two different types.
Have one here with me waiting till I get the Griff up on ramps to go on. It has Caerbont Automotive M06031 on the packaging if thats the right packaging!! for a 96 Griff.
Think the Gap is pretty close, just enough not to touch, and was just going to use the old one as a guide but would also be intersted in the correct gap.

Couldn't agree more.
