Wipers, headlights and a missfire

OK so just looking for some advice / previous experience please.
Wipers just packed in again, but this time it's a case of sheared off at the brass tube that passes through the firewall. I am aware this is a dash out job? Is there anyway to avoid this? Also I was using the shorter throw motor as my original one was dead, is it still a case only one guy does rebuilds?
Second is the headlights flicker when on under acceleration, then eventually pack in (hid bulbs), also causes indicator led to flicker strangely, any ideas? I'm fairly sure it's not alternator.
Third is missfire / dead spot under light acceleration and around 1500rpm? I've gone through ht leads and cleaned dizzy cap.
What with finding a hole in the radiator and a leaking diff it seems things come in fives rather than three, lol.
