Advice for a New Griff Owner

I will be getting my new Griff shortly. It is a 95, low mileage, 500 HC, with a full service history. It seems to be in excellent condition. As a first time Griff owner, what things should I look out for and any other advice would be great.

Item list would be extensive, but there are many previous threads if you do a search.

Give the chassis a thorough looking over.
Especially under the manifolds (top rails)

Good morning! Are you back on the road now, and if so, what upgrades did you have done in the end?

Hi Andy,
Nope not on road yet hopefully within the next few weeks.
Complete engine rebuild at V8 D kept all original for time being but will prob go for induction upgrade this year. Should have some nice yellow hoses too..!
Did you see my post in Gen TVR forum headed 'Chassis woes'? This will explain why not back on road yet...
Found a rather nasty surprise with the top chassis rails.
Work in progress at mo to have chassis repaired but its a body off job, being done at the V8 centre in High Wycombe.
Might go for new bushes as you have while body off.
Have you got yours sorted now...?

Yep, back on the road yesterday. One hell of a job, and not one I want to repeat in a hurry. Doesn't feel much better yet, but I've still got 4 wheels pointing in differnet directions and minimum damping on each corner. Need to find someone local to set this up for me.

I'll have a lok at that other thread in a bit. I don't normally venture out of the Griff forum, I'm afraid.

Nice one 23 If the roof panel has a bag, use it to reduce chafing in the boot. Make sure the rubber seals at the sides go over the windows when closed, not inside. If the car is a second car, consider a battery conditioner to avoid a flat battery. If it goes out in muddy conditions, make sure the mud doesn't accummulate around the chassis and encourage rust. Check coolant is halfway up expansion tank (front-mounted type). Take care not to get the rear screen creased when lowering it, and don't leave it lowered in cold weather. Don't trust the fuel gauge; refill at 1/4 full. You can use unleaded if you're not ragging it. Get protectors for the driving lamps. Eat more fruit. Wear sunscreen
