Done a few track days now and am thinking of changing my bridgestones for some a032 yoko's. has anyone done similar and what are the upsides and downsides!

Similar vein has anyone tried the Toyo R888's and are these and or the 032's fully road legal .

Downside is more stress on the transmission and the geometry may need changing to get the best performance with them. Not good in the wet either.

Upside is more grip but they don't last very long.

I use A032s on mine for trackdays (on some Chim rims); they're fantastic....very predictable with phenominal grip & braking levels. The car also feels more 'pointy'. HOWEVER, this is a double edged sword as you will need to increase the sump baffling, or run the risk of un-priming the oil pump.

I think Griffany (Griffnonoski) uses them on THE monster 5.3, last time i met him he had driven about 50 miles in the wet, and lets say he needed a strong coffee

I run A032 soft compound on the Griff for hill climbing. The dry grip is massive compared to S03s I use on the road. In damp conditions there is not a lot of difference, anything more than damp and the Yokies are super scary. I wanted to stick with the original spec tyre sizes so the 48s were not an option as the correct sizes were not listed. Slight snag however, the Yokie spec recommends 8 or 8.5j wheels for the rears rather than the standard 7.5j. As a result the rear footprint is probably not ideal. Obviously they are quite soft and would have a fairly short life as a road tyre. I believe the 32s to be road legal (in fact I seem to recall it stating that in the Wrexham based catalogue)

Run them on our TR race cars in 205x15x60 - they are the nuts but wear really fast - really only legal for one or two races or even less if a track day (I presume as more miles - but maybe less stress). Can you get the in 245x16? and the 225x16 fronts?

From memeory I think mine came from Colin Blower Motorsport, I got the contact info directly from Yokie. None of the catlaoge suppliers had them in stock.
