rear wheel arch ducts

to try and reduce lift at the rear I have created ducts running form the top of the inner arches through the boot and exiting by the side of the rear lights. just need some black mastic to seal around the ducts at the rear.

be interesting to see if they work.

Interesting idea. Initially I thought that perhaps the duct should be tapered to accelerate any flow away from the arch and then decelerated again to match the flow at the exit but that is probably nonsense.

If you used clear tube you could dab some tracer dye at the arch end to see if there is any flow.

I guess they will fill with clag fairly quickly on the road (or somewhere like a wet Wiscombe) do you have some sort of blanking plate for road use?

Steve, it was actually Perry's idea (77racing). I had thought about it getting clagged up so the hoses just unclip so a quick clean is easy. A dye test is a good idea. Might try that.

looks exactly what I have done don't forget that that pipe is now a source of cold air that could be usefull for cooling some thing in the boot.. Diff , gearbox, ECU etc . if it has a strong enough flow you could think about putting that air onto the rear boot spoiler.
