GAZ Shocks for 4.3
Discussion
put GAZ on my S... totally happy for my use and budget (no track days yet)
rather buy what is recomended by the the GAZ what is the best damper to buy and spring set up......
are we looking at the same as the V8s or is it a totally different set up.??????
ohh for a 4.3 ... just incase thet differ...
I think you will find that Gaz will recomend the same GP range that you fitted on the S Steve. The codes are GP8 2285 on the rear and GP8 2284 on the front, on the springs they would differ from some thoughts on the forums and recomend 500lb on the back and 450lb on the front for a fast road set up.
Cost would be £460.18 inc VAT delivery and free C spanner are included.
BTW, the spring weight settings come from their technical support dept.
If you want confirmation of these spring values you can mail technical@gaz.com, David or Brian will advise

have you considered jools intermediate range(sorry cant remember the make) shocks and springs.i here theyre much better than gaz/avo ones, but not nearly as expensive as nitrons-perfect if you dont track the car all the time apparently.come with a 3yr warranty too i think.perhaps jools could enlighten us a little more........
Yes I did tell them what cars but when I go back through the forums I have even found old postings from you Pete, suggesting stronger springs on the back( I wish I knew how to paste links)
Its no wonder there is confussion in the ranks,I'm not going to listen to all these conflicting posts for the moment I'm going to do some proper research and talk to some experts and if I have to swop mine round later, not a problem

I thought most Griff owners and hairdressers went with Nitrons, courtesy of your good self, Joolz?
Nice business if you can get it but I,m sure that not all Griff & Chim owners will get sucked in to that expense, Gaz & Avo still do the odd bit of business.
Feck the expense,go for the OHLINS

my inter damper is made for me by protech.
protech alrady have tvr in their listings, but i dont know who gave them the specs cos they're miles out
I brand my versions as joospeed as no-one else sells that damper in the spec I choose, in fact as they're built to order I have some control over the damper anyway .. they're like having some of the nitron adjustability over the characteristics of the damper build, but closer to avo on price. they're the best value spring damper combo on the market i believe, cos I designed the to be that way!
plus they have a 3 year warranty, plus I've *never* had a faulty one, so it's the only kit i ever send out mail order these days .. it's the only kit i'm 99% sure i'll not have a problem with
I love them

You did tell them this was for a TVR not a Porsche?
That's both odd and very stiff. Rear are usually about 70% of the front. 300f&210r is usually considered to be a stiff road set up.

I don't remember any confusion on that scale. Just variations in the % from about 66 to 80 but that also relates to ARB stiffness and bushing/rose jointing.
I now see where this is comming from, sweeping statements on other forums and from Gaz do confuse the issue.
I've just read and reread an Email from Pete Humpreys explaining why the confusion at Gaz existed because he did the original evaluation for Tower.
The lower powered V6S I drive can have a slightly higher rate on the back but the V8 models can't, so my posting was quite rightly critisised.
The crux of this original posting was that those people who were considering buying Gaz from some respected dealers were not getting a good deal and I thought it right to point this out.
