Griffith Fan Removal
Discussion
Hi All,
Don't know if I have something wrong but I have spent most of this weekend trying to change a broken fan on my Griff and it is still in the car😤
I have got most of the stuff out of the way however fan cowel won't clear the anti roll bar?
Does anyone know if I have to remove the rads and fans all together?
I thought I could just change one of the fans?
Please help???

The cowling is bolted top and bottom to the radiator so rad has to come out to remove the cowl. You might be able to loosen the rad fixings and slide it up into the nose enough to remove without disconnecting all the pipe work but it might need another pair of hands to help.
Can't remember how the fans are bolted to the cowl though

Thanks cjb44 and Colin Redgriff...... Red Griff by any chance or just a coincidence?
I will take the rad out as a good oportunity to flush out, might upgrade?
do need to watch the pennies though as I also need carpets and new hood window soon.
For your info; the fans are held on with nylocks so you will need access to the back/ inside the cowel.....oh dear!!
Thanks again chaps

PS don't worry I am not sitting here in a red and blue outfit as I type this..........that would be weird!!

What do you consider an upgrade? An ali rad is not as efficient unless it has a larger core and it would seem they are prone to cracking.
If your existing rad is in good order then I would clean it and look after it.
