After my incident at Oulton Park in August my car is ready for collection but guess what it failed its MOT!

8 months in a TVR dealer and it needs the handbrake adjusting, a rear cv boot and something else due to sitting doing nothing. It has done 500 miles since its last MOT!!!!!!!

A tad p****d off to say the least!

Hope you can get the bits fixed quickly
Bought my Griff from a TVR dealer who issued a brand new MOT. However when I got it home one of the headlights didn’t work, one steering rack gaiter was split along with one of the rear CV boots. About 500 miles later I poked a hole in two of the wishbones. Dealers like this are I think being a bit simple, I will do my absolute best to ensure that they get no more of my or my friends money. I suggest you do the same with yours.

8 months! I think this must be the worst thing about damaging your car at a track (or anywhere else) - it just takes so long to get them back. I was at Oulton and it seems half a life time ago!

V. sorry to hear you've had to wait so long but at least you're nearly there.

erm, the cv boot isn't a testable item .. the only cv boot that's testable is the one adjacent the steered wheel, ie the outer cv on a fwd car.

it could be split and throwing grease on the brake disc if you're unlucky, but the failure then would be on the brake efficiency not on the cv boot.

Sounds familiar. I bought my Griff a couple of years ago from a dealer with a very good reputation. It had a new MOT. When I took a look underneath, one of the rear dampers was leaking oil very badly.
One year and a couple of thousand miles later, having spent the Winter in a warm, dry garage,it failed it's next MOT on collapsed front wishbone bushes. I had pointed them out to the salesman at the time of purchase(his name was Drew for those who know), but as it passed the MOT shortly afterwards, I naively thought they were OK. Whilst cleaning up the wishbones prior to painting, a rust hole appeared.

Not impressed.

Oh, and the 'main beam' spotlights pointed anywhere but the road ahead.
