So my Griff (500HC) is now 21 years old and the chassis paint need attention.

I found the link to Rob Brookbanks body lift page - are there any more good links for complete body removal.

Any tips please.... What must do tasks are there while the car is in bits ?

Also on the to do list -

New back screen as the original fell out - possibly complete hood?
Sort out a lot of wiring.
Re-coat dashboard - yet to decide if it's going to be wood, paint or pattern vinyl
Re-commission heater controls.
Some paint repairs on the body.
Fix whatever is wrong with the door locks. (Unlock in the button then lock again straight away)
Full Service !
Recondition seats and carpet.
Install new lighter socket (broken) or/and some USB power outlets
Drink lots of tea / buy biscuits :-)

And while I'm asking - what's everyone's favourite colour for running gear components? Chassis, wishbones etc., coils, brake calipers ?

It would not worry me but you may want to consider the 'originality' thread running elsewhere. The next owner may expect the chassis to be the same colour it came out of the factory. Your choice of 'sky blue pink' may limit the resale value.

Silver chassis. Read somewhere that silver ones tended to last longer, anyway mines a 1992 with silver chassis and I think they look better than white, so silver gets my vote.

Exactly what Steve said, stick to original for resale value. That goes for chassis, wishbones, uprights etc as well as the dashboard. Subtle mods as you mention like usb sockets are great, but keep them hidden.
That's my thoughts anyway, but feel free to disagree.

Exactly. Keep everything looking standard then modify under the skin where it's really needed.

Thanks for the replies - I did a google image search and nothing cam off the page at me so looks like retaining factory colours - which for the chassis at least is silver (I don't like white as will always look grubby, and I am thinking a dark colour will hide any rust starting at a later date)
