LEDs in main beam lamps

Has anyone fitted LED bulbs in the main beam i.e. lower lamps in front of the radiator.

If so how did they compare to the originals?

Any recommendations for suppliers?

I installed LEDs in the pods which were upgraded to take H4 bulbs inside 7” reflectors. This switches a secondary main beam in addition to the original grill mounted main beam lamps. Using LEDs however doesn’t give a very precise beam pattern so I had to have the main beam direction set cautiously to the kerbside from these pod mounted units otherwise I’d be blinding oncoming traffic. Therefore I still use conventional bulbs in the grill lights albeit upgraded to H1 Philips +120 Xtremes. Perhaps LED offerings have got enhanced to have better beam patterns since I upgraded. If they have I’m sure there’s plenty people here who will update you (and me!!).

I will probably forget LEDS and fit Nightbreakers, seems the simplest solution to avoid problems.
