Thanks for the reply,
I would of thought the same, but its coming up 2 weeks this Friday, bank details passed over Monday but still nothing.
Probably concerned for no reason but getting a little miffed that somebody is driving around in a car I still legally own even though the garage in question signed the v5 in my name.

Hi
Was told Monday a nominal amount would be transferred today and the balance once confirmed nominal amount received but nothing.
Probably been a bit too relaxed about the whole sale due to high work loads and as I have never sold a car this way before thought it was normal to wait to be contacted for payment.

Let's face the truth, there is no excuse, it could all be done on the same day if people pull their finger out.
They are probably using your cash to ease their cash flow problems and are waiting for other money to come in before they pay you.
I would get down there and insist on it being done right there and then, no messing about.
If they refuse to do this, you know where you stand!

Sadly you probably don't legally own the car, the chap who paid and bought it off the garage does. I say this because I guess you didn't put a caveat in the contract that the vehicle remains your property until full funds have cleared? Instead “legally” you instructed the garage to sell the car. Which they have done for you. You just haven't been paid for it.5.0ltr said:
…….can be a problem sometimes when your car is sold against a trade in, therefore the dealer has not received all the money your car fetched and that you now expect …….
If a garage has cash flow problems like this, they shouldn't be trading cars then.If you’re going to do sale or return sales, do it with garages that can afford to buy cars. Ask to be paid in full when the dealer gets the deposit, not later when the transaction is completed. I hope this gets sorted asap.
