Dash Again !!!

Well cars still off the road waiting for my dash to come back from the walnuters
the other problem I have been trying to solve 
is the instrumental light panel Apparantly this is silk screen printed, a previous project in lazercutting some s/steel has failed as the gaps are too small i.e less than 0.8mm, this has wasted me some money, also tried stickey vinel (still too fine) now I am having some silk screen printed in silver

Know how you feel Stersg, I am just waiting to see if the local electronics repair company can repair my speedo.They have sourced the IC chip that Speedy cables couldnt, so heres hoping.
I am dying to get it back together and on the road..

AJ - I know you asked me in the past about Speedy but I couldn't give any answers as they couldn't repair mine and the alternative they sent (and I paid for!!) was a bag of sh*te - it didn't match and started at 7 0'clock and ended 4 0'clock and mine started 2 0'clock and ended 10'clock (old one) and it's wrong to name and shame but I was disappointed with the outcome (although I agreed to their 'solution').
It sort of stopped me in my tracks last Oct and made me give up on the Griff for a while - so I wasn't about to give any constructive input to your question but..... it looks as if you've progressed futher than me!!!!
Go on then spill the beans - please.
however I had to have 4 made so I have 1 in silver and 2 in black left over !!! these were specialy screen printed for me on 3mm perxpex and have to be cut to size, beleive it or not ther is a slight difference between dash openings. chris watton said:
Photo etching would be a way forward also, if you draw the parts in CAD, with a full etch and half etch layer, submit it to an etching company, they will do it for you in the steel you require for no more than £200, and you could probably fir at least 10 sets on one sheet!
Photo etching in steel so how does the light shine through the steel then ?

Because the icons and letters can be etched fully.
I thought they would not be able to fully etch through 3mm thich steel, even the lazer cutters refused to do this because it was so fine,I think if you etched it through thin steel you would still need the perxpex to make up the 3mm total thicknes but at £200.00 seems expensive though.
Silk screens the best way to go as original TVR.

Paul, Mine is repaired, back in and working .
Best of all it was free !!!!!!!!!!!
When Speedy cables said they couldnt repair it I got it sent back to me.
They said they believed it was the IC chip at fault but they couldnt get spares.
I took it apart and started searching for the IC's on
the net.
It turns out the one that drives the needle is a CS289.A local electronics repair company managed to source one and replace it,(the cs289 is supposed to be obsolete)once they had it the speedo worked perfectly.!!!!!!!!!!!!
