I've been changing my dashboard (using one of Peter Wiggins superbly engineered dashboards) and during which I noticed someone has removed a warning light bulb from the back of the rev counter. If it were fitted it would illuminate the red rectangular glass at the 6 'o clock position on the rev counter. The speedo has ignition and oil pressure warning lights - so what is/was this rev counter light used for?

In my car 1996 500 it was not connected.

I have a bypass switch for the cooling fans so use it to indicate that the switch is on. I believe several others have done the same thing.

I’ve alrea got a fan override warning LED on dash just above steering wheel. On my original question I was just wondering what this light was used for when new. Or perhaps it’s a redundant feature left out??
