Hi,

I have been replacing the speakers and have found that one of the rear speakers (passenger side) isnt working. If I connect the speaker at the back of the head unit it works so I know the signal out is ok but I need to some how expose the wire and potentially replace it. any suggestions for trouble shooting, the routing and easy replacement appreciated.

I have also found for the speakers and a few other places there are bodged or just very old connections in the loom and would like to replace them. The 2 options I have used in the past are solder or bullet connectors but ideally I would something between the 2. Something that you can disconnect if needed but more robust than bullets and less hassle than solder. Any suggestions welcome.

Finally.. I'm considering going back to stock rear lights. After a look around the MK3 Vaux Cav lights look like the right type but where best to get a set? I can find lots of passenger side ones (even new) from ebay but no decent drivers side ones. If anybody has a spare set or a supplier for sensible money please let me know.

Cheers

The cars came out of the factory with vents in the rear bulkhead, not speakers, so any installation is non standard. There is therefore no standard routing or wiring. Most people ran the wires under the carpets on the passenger side and up into the rear wheel arch flap next to the seat and hence into the boot space.

The rear lights were originally cavaliier gsi smoked items, very rare now, the ones you see online tend to be standard orange items.

They look good. very similar to Molex use in computers. These ones however come with the weather guard which is a plus for our cars.
