Replacing Engine Bay Heat Shields - Alternatives ?
Discussion
Hi,
I'll shortly be replacing the engine bay heat shields as part of my "minor service" and I was wondering what the options are.
I can see what looks like OEM copies on the CentralTVR and Chimera parts online sites.
I can also see the material for sale on TVR parts etc but I assume that would require "hemming" to stop it falling apart.
I've also been thinking about using a material like Nimbus or Zircoflex.
With all that in mind what have the rest of you done? any hints, tips suggestions etc welcome.
Cheers
Richard

I used this set.
Lots of good stuff on their site.
I think I will go for their engine/box heat pillow next winter......

I bought some heat resistant matting from Tweeks and some Nomex thread and made my own. All properly edged and double skin where the manifolds are closest to the body.
Easy enough although the lower wing sections are very three dimensional.
I've extended the material to the bottom of the wings and all the way down the tunnel and fastened it with epoxy and rivets.

I made an under bonnet shield to match
