Securing battery

But the box is loose. Not secured at the moment.
I'd do a trial fitting without the battery in the box to put the bolts in and draw a line on the floor. It's a bit unwieldy with the battery in it.
It can't move sideways, only forward and back, if you want to sort it on your own and without jacking the car up to see whats going on try cutting the heads off two short M8 bolts, screw into battery box then slide along till they drop through the holes. reach underneath, unscrew and replace with bolts I'd do a trial fitting without the battery in the box to put the bolts in and draw a line on the floor. Forget the stupid TVR battery box with it's inaccessible spinning captive nuts, just bolt a proper battery tray to the floor.

With the tray bolted securely in place you can then firmly clamp your battery down on to it, like this it's going nowhere and future battery removal becomes much much easier.
Dave.

Battery bolted in. Was a little fun. I pushed the battery in place then used a marker pen up through the floor to mark the holes so I knew what adjustment the tray needed. Adjusted, got one bolt in.
I like the link above. Ordering a tray now.
More fun ensues. Mate got in the car yesterday and plonked himself down. Cue ripping noise of bolts coming out. Guess he's pulled some floor bolts through. (edit update: seems the front runners were not secured properly! - looked under the car and no nuts there. Clear markings where washers had fallen off. Prev owner can't have used nylocks. Easy fix, phew!
Ordered a battery tray too. Be nice to lose the stupid box. I get why they used one though. Catches spills.
