I've searched for a thread about this, but all I can find is stuff about the Chimera.
The locks on my Griff have suddenly stopped working, they worked fine when it was delivered yesterday, but later on in the day they stopped, it seemed to happen after we put the hood back up, but that may have just been a coincidence. It's a Cobra alarm, not the factory fitted one, the lights on the fob flash OK, but nothing happens. Any ideas appreciated.

So a light flashes on the fob but the hazards/siren don't do anything?

If so, then it sounds alarm related rather than central locking related (they can be regarded as separate systems).

Can't help much on the alarm side but on a chim there are 2 fuses for the central locking. Fuse 6 supplies to the drivers door lock solenoid. Fuse 8 drives the locking module but also drives the door open solenoids.

If it was related to the roof being put back up could there be a switch on the boot that's not made preventing the locks from working?

Thanks a lot folks, but for some reason they've started working again. All seems fine, but I do have to make sure that I point the fob at the dashboard though. Maybe I need to replace the battery in the fob?

My Griff has OE alarm/immobiliser, I can't remember the correct terminology this time of a Saturday morning. As long as the fob is pointing at the windscreen and no more than 6ft away, it's fine. Makes no difference if battery is new or not.
I was reading your "getting excited" thread, and then "oh I have a problem" ... I can imagine the sad face. If it works when pointed at the screen/dashboard, then that's fine.
Now go and wake the neighbours up smile

It's stopped working again, it seems to have a mind of its own this Cobra alarm, it's a total pain.
I'm going to have to take it to an alarm specialist tomorrow, trouble is, I'm never sure if it's going to go off and cause major annoyance.
