Spider conversion - how wide?

Saw a Griff the other day that had the spider conversion, looked great, but one thing I noticed was that the tyres stick outside of the bodywork line at the rear. Is this normal? cos although I think the wheels look great it spoils the lines of the car overall.

No, it's not legal either.

Shouldn't do. Tyres are 225 front and 245 rear, same as (most) standard. Offset is around teh same too.
