Engine mountings
Discussion
The mounts are old SD1 pattern parts.
There seems to have be a variety of reports on the quality of said items, dont know if its down to how long they have been on the shelf, or who the manufacturer was?
I got mine from Rimmers, bit expensive but they are standing up OK so far.
When replacing they are a bit of a fiddle to get in & out, but do-able. In hind-sight I think Id remove the engine brackets next time to make it easier (de-rust & quick coat of paint at same time). Dont make my mistake, and try raising engine by lifting sump - the sump gasket / seal got destroyed, I guess block of wood under the front pulley must be the way to support the engine.

Ive found the quality of the mounts vary consideribly, some lasting 40,000ks,others 10,000ks,anyway the rubbers sh1te.
Due to the obvious logistics in getting originals, we're taking the old mounts to a bushing/engine mount/suspension specialist to have them made from nylethane using the existing metal mounts, and there great.
I'am sure you can get the same done in the UK.
