Best seats for a griff? My 94 has S seats. Very comfy and ok but anyone else got these on thiers or will they have been fitted as aftermarket jobbies? Plan to change over to cerb ones methinks eventually assuming they fit. However do they really suit this car? any views on this?

I've put Cerb seats in my Griff.
They fit right it and it's all very well documented on Ballistic Banana's website.
They are not as 'old armchair' comfortable as the original Griff seats - being a lot firmer - but they give much better latteral support and have the pump-up lumbar support which helps to get comfy. You should note the height difference though as this really is important.

I am fortunate that my car came with Cerberra seats, and for me they are much better than the original items which I seem to sit on the top off, if you know what I mean, whereas the Cerberra seats I sit in ... worth changing.

Yup, Cerb seats are a big improvement once the original Griff seats have sagged.
They were too small for me in the first place and the wider Cerb seats with lateral support certainly means a better fit and more importantly, less using of the steering wheel to hold myself steady in corners.
They are harder but after 12 months I just don't notice that.
As allready pointed out they give a noteably higher ride height and this does mean that my head is just touching the Tbar and that a crash hat cannot be worn.
The height change is not to be ignored and if you are over 6 foot then you should stick a load of big books on the current seats and see how you like the car with your head very nearly touching the lid.

Had seats retrimmed full leather in Magnolia, with perforated centre pieces and red stitching. They were done at Martrim in Middlewich, Cheshire, who advertise in Sprint. The leather became a bit wrinkly after a while on driver's seat, but they tightened it all FOC.
I'm very happy with them, much better than originals, and I can wear a helmet no bother, but then I'm only 5'10'.

I have a Sparco “Ultra” fitted with some mounting brackets that drops in for Hill Climbing. For normal use I refit the standard seat. The problem with a lot of race seats is the width across the seat just behind your knees. I chose the Ultra because it is fibreglass rather than a steel frame. To make it fit between the door trim and centre console I pealed the cover back and took off about I cm fibreglass each side at the very front. The Omp “ECO” looks as if it should fit but couldn’t actually find one in stock anywhere.

Yea - the standard seats are crap for trackdays etc - last time I did the Oulton Park event I had aching wrists from hanging on to the steering wheel (and what does it do to the steering column bushes?). Have thought of changing seats, but cost of retrimming puts me off.
Does fitting a 4-point harness solve the problem, or is there still insufficient lateral support?
I used a harness attached to the factory roll bar with the standard seat. It was certainly better than the standard belt but a proper seat is a massive improvement. You can actually feel what the car is doing which enables you to be a little more adventurous. Swaping the seat (once the bracket is made) and fitting harness takes me about 15 mins.
