Will there be a ‘Growl’ in 2019 ?
Discussion
Hi Folks
Just wondering what the score is regarding annual get together this year ?
Any stand alone Griffith plans or joint affairs with other lesser models
Have been a bit distracted of late with another money pit so have been a little out of the loop
Be good to catch up with some older friends
Moose
Ps no I’m not volunteering to organise but happy to help if someone else is

Ah, the days of Spend, Pasco and others wiling away the long hours of the evening with columns of mindless banter as well as informative posts!
I saw Pasco's griff down at Jools's workshop a couple of years ago, probably never been seen since!
As for the growl, I have been a few times and every year it got smaller. It was a more entertaining event when it was held jointly with the wedges. At least there was a decent number then, probably echoed events of the past.
How times change, people just don't seem interested in this sort of thing any more or just require a change to freshen things up.

Its a time thing. In this modern age, spare time is so much more precious.
I would love to go to a Griff Growl.
I didn't reply to this thread originally as the number of "spare" weekends I get in a year if pretty small, and much as I would love a Griff weekend, in reality, any spare weekend I get is taken by the children.
That said, last September, we did a bit of a 4 day road trip to Champaign region of France with some friends. In total, 12 cars and 24 good mates (mainly couples). The twelve cars were:-
2 Chims
2 Tuscans
Daimler Dart
Ford Mustang
BMW M5
Ferrari 355
4 Griffiths.
A fantastic long weekend. While not a proper Griff Growl, with 4 Griffs, we held the upper ground.
We were considering Clive Fords summer camp this year, but as matters stand, the dates and the stars don't align.

Not been to the growl for at least 8 years, always fell when I was working, interesting to see others cars, and watch the dyno runs, but I guess the most was had out of the event by those who stayed over, Friday night curry, and the Saturday ..... car number's are dwindling every year, which can also reduce the attendees, maybe time for a combined event?

Hi guys, yea I was looking out for something this year too, only had my Griff a year now. How big have the Growls been in the past?

Aussie John]I have a vague feeling that the growl in about 2006 had 150+ cars over the weekend. It was when Jeffsy and Pasco were around [ not forgetting Seasider [Del 203 said:
and of course Quinny.
Just looked my Growl photos up, 2007 was the record year with 153 Griffs and 37 other TVR models in attendance. Bob.danieljg said:
Thanks for the photo link. Looks amazing.
So who usually gets on and organises it? And has it taken place in the same location or moved around?
Mr & Mrs Flip flop griff used to organise most of them and the ones I remember were held at Ettington Chase (hotel) near Stratford on Avon. So who usually gets on and organises it? And has it taken place in the same location or moved around?
